What are your typical MOQs (minimum order quantities)?

Minimum order quantities (MOQs) start at 100 units per style/color in China. For factories outside of China, MOQs typically start at 300-500 units per style/color. By representing multiple clients, we negotiate lower MOQs than what our factory partners typically provide.

How do you vet factories?

Our industry veterans meet with all of our apparel manufacturers personally and in-person to put faces to names. In addition, we perform inspections and audits with QIMA (a reputable 3rd-party inspection agency trusted by leading brands and retailers).

Do I talk to the factories or do you take care of communication?

Accepted Answer

We handle all factory communication for you so that you can focus on growing your business. Our apparel factories are not hidden. Our customers know the name of their cut and sew manufacturer, but we handle the communication for you. This takes a hefty workload off of you, and actually increases efficiency for the factory. It streamlines communication by providing the factory with one single point of contact (MakeMine) for multiple brands.

Do you have fabric suppliers and apparel factories outside of China?

Absolutely! Our factory network is truly global. We partner with cut and sew manufacturers and fabric suppliers in Honduras, Peru, South Korea, and Vietnam.

Does MakeMine have expertise in fabric sourcing, like performance or technical fabrics?

Yes, MakeMine partners with fabric mills covering various categories, with a strong focus on performance and technical fabrics (both knitted and woven).

Question 7

Do we pay MakeMine or the factories? How do we pay?

Accepted Answer

We handle payments throughout the entire process—fabric sourcing, sampling, production, inspections, shipping, and customs. You’ll pay through ACH or credit/debit card, using a familiar payment processor, Intuit QuickBooks. Wire transfers are also accepted through a US bank, so you never have to pay international wire fees.

Do you charge for samples?

Accepted Answer

For new customers, we charge for samples at factory cost, typically $50 per sample. Once a customer has established a sustained record of orders, we may eliminate sample fees altogether.

Can I use my own fabric suppliers?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We can easily onboard your existing fabric suppliers and integrate them into MakeMine’s process.

How does MakeMine help ensure quality on production orders?

Accepted Answer

MakeMine ensures quality through a multi-stage process that spans quoting, sampling, production, packing, and shipping stages. At each phase, specific approvals are required before advancing to the next stage.
