Sunglasses Manufacturing

We manage end-to-end production for founder-led eyewear and sunglasses brands — from custom tooling to landed cost.

Who we produce for

Scaling lifestyle and sport sunglasses brands

You've proven the product and built a following. Now you need a partner who can hold quality across high-velocity style counts — multiple frame shapes, lens options, and seasonal drops — and negotiate payment terms that don't force you to tie up cash in inventory. We do this for established sunglasses brands sold through major retailers and DTC channels, managing acetate, TR90, and metal frame programs without the quality drift that comes from juggling factories yourself.

Children's and family eyewear brands

Kids' eyewear is its own discipline. Frames have to survive being sat on, lenses have to meet impact and UV standards parents actually check for, and packaging has to pass retail compliance. We already produce for an established children's eyewear brand running several million dollars in annual production — so the durability, safety, and UV-protection requirements your customers expect aren't new to us.

Founder-led startups launching their first line

We partner with founders and designers to take a first sunglasses line from reference frames to a launch-ready run. No tech packs required to start — a reference pair and a clear direction are enough for us to develop samples. You get the tooling, lens quality, and finish you thought were reserved for the big eyewear groups.

What sunglasses manufacturing actually requires

Plenty of factories will tell you they make "premium" sunglasses. Fewer can tell you why a TR90 frame holds its shape in a hot car when injection-molded acetate would warp, or when a custom mold is worth the upfront cost versus modifying an existing one. Sunglasses have technical requirements that generic accessory factories are not equipped to meet:

Frame material and tooling

Acetate, TR90, nylon, bio-based materials, metal — each behaves differently in the mold, on the face, and over a product's life. We help you choose the material that fits your price point and positioning, and we'll tell you honestly when a custom mold unlocks lower per-unit costs at scale versus when an existing tool gets you to market faster and cheaper.

Lens specification

Polarized, UV400, mirrored, gradient, photochromic, impact-rated. The lens is where cost, performance, and compliance meet. We spec lens construction to your category — performance, lifestyle, or children's — so the product passes the standards your retailers and customers expect.

Hinge, durability, and finish

The most common failure modes in sunglasses are loose hinges and frame fatigue. We spec hinge construction, screw type, and finishing to survive real wear — which matters even more for children's eyewear, where "virtually indestructible" is a promise customers hold you to.

Factory-country fit

For most growing sunglasses brands, China and Taiwan remain the best options — even with current tariffs. The tooling infrastructure, lens capabilities, and frame-construction expertise simply aren't matched elsewhere at your volume. We route each program to the right factory and, if you want to see the real numbers against an alternative country, we'll run that comparison before you commit.

How a scaling sunglasses brand works with us

Anonymized client snapshot

Established children's eyewear brand — multi-million-dollar annual production. We moved their production into our partner factory in China, reducing unit costs and shortening lead times without compromising the durability and safety standards their customers rely on.

What it actually costs

Most sourcing agents build excessive margin into their price to cover overhead. We use technology to pass along our volume discounts, and we publish a line-item breakdown on every quote. Here's what a custom sunglasses run typically looks like at one of our factories:

  • FOB cost per unit: production cost, laid out by style, frame material, and lens spec
  • Tooling: custom molds quoted at factory cost — a one-time investment that lowers your per-unit cost at scale
  • Sample fees: charged at factory cost
  • Duties: calculated on FOB, not on a marked-up number
  • Shipping & logistics: air or ocean, with tracking and customs handled

Nothing is hidden as leverage. If a timeline or a target cost isn't realistic, we'll tell you before you commit.

The process

1. Submit product specs or reference frames

Upload what you have. A reference pair and a clear direction work when tech packs don't exist yet.

2. Get matched with the right factory

China or Taiwan — routed by frame material, lens spec, tooling needs, and volume.

3. Review pricing, MOQs, and lead times

Line-item breakdown — FOB, tooling, duties, shipping. No hidden fees. MOQs typically start at 300–500 units per style.

4. Approve tooling, frame, and lens samples

Sample rounds to lock fit, frame finish, and lens performance. Lab and compliance testing available on request.

5. Place your PO and track production

Inspections, logistics, and customs handled. Real-time status for tech packs, quotes, samples, and shipments — all in one platform, not scattered across email threads and WhatsApp groups.

6. Scale

When a style takes off, we route to higher-capacity partners and manage reorders without breaking your supply chain.
